Winter Camp 2025
Saturday 27 December - Thursday 1 January 2026, with a seminar and 26 December an extra B&B option for early birds.
Location
Paasheuvelgroep, Woudenbergseweg 47, 3711 AA, Austerlitz, NL
The centre we use is a youth camp with dormitories and bunk beds. We have 2 persons (very few), 4/5 and 8-persons dorms. Bathrooms are shared, man-women separate.
We also create 10 ’non-official’ on site spots for small tents and campervans. Options outside the camp: Camping ’De krakeling’ or Hotel ’Oud London’ on walking distance. You also can try Airbnb of course.
Food is being prepared by the centre we rent, so we do not have to cook. We offer a choice between vegetarian and non vegetarian. The breakfast is being prepare by our own kitchen team and is a feast to see and eat.
Unfortunately the centre does not cater for diets. Some people bring food and heat it in the microwave or cook on a simple electric hot plate.
We offer a bed, mattress and small pillow. So bring your favorite pillow, sheets, pillow cover, duvet, towels, blindfold, earplugs and maybe some cloth to hang over your bunk bed. We stay in a beautiful forest, so take walking cloths and swimsuit in the summer. Two weeks before the camp we will inform you on further details.
If you need you can rent a duvet for 10,- euro. You still need to bring your own sheet, duvet & pillow cover and towels. Reserve the duvet beforehand. We have limited supply.
Each camp we have one or two nights with a special dress code. We learned that sometimes this helps us to create a special focus and atmosphere.
Everything we do at the camp is based on invitation. So you do not have to dress up if you do not want to.
We have a great team of around 15 helping angels. They do a lot of work every day to make the camp as nice as possible for everybody.
Still we need a bit of help from all participants to prepare breakfast and dinner and to do the dishes and cleaning up afterwards. Therefor we ask everyone to do about 1 or 2 times a week a little shift up to 1 1/2 hour each.
The camp is an intensive event with a full program. We experienced that parents - especially with smaller children - can have a hard time dividing time between tango and children. Also there is little extra space for children to play and run around freely especially in the winter. Biggest problem is however that we have dormitories and young children can be ‘noisy‘.
So we ask you not to bring young children and give it a second thought if you want to bring your ‘bigger‘ kids. Talk to us in case you consider to bring your kids.
We take care of a balanced number of leaders-followers.
You can book as double role dancer if you are willing to dance for sure 50%-50% in both roles in the milongas. (the workshops are less important)
Please do not use the double role option to skip the followers waiting list.
We limit the number of ‘double rolers‘ to keep a reasonable gender-balance at the camp as most double roles are female.
Meet our dog Szimba. She is a very human friendly dog, who likes to meet everybody. If you do not want her attention, just tell her to leave and she understands the word for NO in Hungarian: "Nem!" very well.
